OverviewFacebook's about friends. Reconnecting with people from the past, finding people from a recent get together, or even networking to extend your business or personal social circles, Facebook is now, the most prolific vehicle to do this. The function of asking someone to be added to your friend list is the only way you can expand your network. Facebook has, over the last year, gotten a bit better with reducing the friction in making a friend request, it's FAR from friction-free. ul.timate.info has been designed to simplify the process taking several clicks out of the friend request user flow, thereby enabling users to do more exploring and less time actually waiting for the action process, well, to happen. |
Why?When I started building UltimateFacebook, the only ways to do a friend request to someone was to either go to their profile page and click "Add as friend" or make the request from another person's list of friends. That's still the core way to make requests and it (still) kinda blows. Adding contextual right-click functionality was the most non-intrusive and value-rich way to take the clicks out of the user experience flow and get users back to sharing and exploring as quickly as possible. |
