Overview
foursquare is a simply a ton of fun. Built by ex-Googlers, they merge the idea of telling your friends where you are with winning badges and even, in cases, real world things like free drinks. foursquare to-date is a purely mobile experience and why should it be limited to just that. ul.timate.info now enables you to check-in from any computer using IP and wifi based location services. This means that you can enjoy the pleasures of foursquare even if you don't yet have an iPhone, Blackberry or Android phone. Even cooler, ul.timate.info allows you to not just update Twitter when you check in on foursquare, but Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and FriendFeed all at once!

ul.timate.info hearts foursquare!
I loved the idea when the guys sold their previous foray (dodgeball) to Google. I started using it and quickly go hooked. They do a great job. But, silly enough, I wanted to check in at times when I didn't want to break out the phone. Tada, that's why it's now part of ul.timate.info

How to Use
To set up foursquare: - Select settings from the ul.timate.info menu (in the top menu bar) whenever you have a browser window open. Enter your foursquare username and password and ul.timate.info will auth the user.
You can check-in using 2 methods:- Quick keys Hold down the shift+option (alt on pc) and hit the L key
- Right-click and select "Check-in on foursquare"
Checking in:- The first thing that will appear is a map of where you are
- In the field enter what you're doing (like "coffee") and hit the search button or the ENTER key
- You'll then see search results (powered by Google)
- You can either select a place by clicking (it'll highlight on click), or scroll to the bottom of the results and manually type in the place
- To configure what socnet services you want to update click on the animated image that rotates the social networks
- This will display all configured accounts on ul.timate.info. You can update Facebook, Myspace, FriendFeed and multiple Twitter accounts with the successful check-in
- To configure these accounts, use the ul.timate.info settings window
- To omit social network updates, uncheck the box next to the rotating image
- To ping your foursquare friends check the box next to the little chess pieces
- To do a new search click the undo button
- To check-in, click submit.
- Check-in first queries foursquare to match the name of the place and retrieve the venue id. If no venue id is found, it simply submits the name
- On successfull check-in ul.timate.info then updates all of the social networks and displays the foursquare response.
