Overview

The "native" Twitter timeline is very good at displaying the stream in what can best be described as "snapshot time." The only problem is that, given the mixed modes of communication within the stream, conversations become very easily missed or even lost. That's where ul.timate.info helps. It enhances the timeline with color to clearly call out mentions and replies with color for the logged-in user. Even cooler is the ability to change colors in the timeline with just a click.

Why?

As I was trying out the emerging Twitter clients on the iPhone and the G1, I came across several apps that color coded mentions and replies. Not having seen this done on Twitter thus far, I decided to add it. Since doing so, color-coding coupled with ul.timate.info's auto-refresh feature makes the "native" Twitter timeline more useful by an order of magnitude.

How to Use

By default, it's enabled To change your settings, select the Settings option from the ul.timate.info menu within Firefox.
