Overview

Twitter is an awesome, albeit single-threaded, experience. The challenge is that most of the modern digital world is rooted in multi-threaded multi-tasked scenarios. The personal blends with the professional. But that doesn't fit too terribly well with the way Twitter has been engineered by default. The need and desire to use multiple accounts is something that has quickly emerged as a core feature requirement in any decent Twitter-related user experience.
